ABSTRACT: A systematic survey was conducted to update the status of molluscs in Rushikulya estuary on the east coast of India. A total of 26 species were collected from 6 stations. Gastropoda included 17 species while bivalvia constituted 9 species. Ficus gracilis, Murex troschelli, Terebra commaculata and Saccostrea cucullata were recorded for the first time from this region. Umbonium vestiarium, Cerithidea cingulata and Telescopium telescopium were commonly found in the estuary. These molluscs form an important component in the food web and help in the secondary productivity of Rushikulya estuarine ecosystem.
