ANKITA GUPTA AND J. POORANI 21-24

Euneura lachni (Ashmead) (Pteromalidae) and Spalangia nigra Latreille are recorded for the first time from India. In total, 16 species, including five species of Pteromalidae, four species of Encyrtidae, one species of Eupelmidae, four species of Chalcididae and two species of Elasmidae are recorded from southern India.
Identification of Indian species of genus Callosciurus through dorsal guard hair (Mammalia: Rodentia: Sciuridae)
ARCHANA BAHUGUNA 25-32
Dorsal guard hair of three Indian species of genus Callosciurus was examined for various hair features like profile of hair (band pattern and colour), medulla type, cross section, cuticular pattern, scale index and medullary configurations. A key for identification of species through dorsal guard hair thus developed. It was noted that band pattern (width of bands and number) forms a very important characteristics in identification of the species in genus Callosciurus of family Sciuridae along with cuticular pattern. Length index was used for the first time in trichotaxonomy.
National Register of the valid species of Scolopendrid centipedes (Chilopoda: Scolopendromorpha) from India
VINOD KHANNA 33-45
ABSTRACT: The present paper deals with an update on the taxonomic status of the species of the family Scolopendridae and Cryptopidae of the Order Scolopendromorpha, Class Chilopoda, in India. The species recently synonymised or transferred to other genera on account of recombinations / re-assessment /new records from the Indian Territory, or recorded earlier but erroneously omitted, have necessitated the deletion /additions to the checklist, provided earlier by Khanna (2001) which are now appropriately placed and tabulated here. Numbers of valid genera with species known globally vis- a- vis in India have been provided. Lapses and inaccuracies in the type localities of the species have also been updated. Out of the 682 species (including subspecies) belonging to 17 valid genera, known globally, India accounts for 92 species, belonging to 8 genera of the family Scolopendridae and 3 genera of the family Cryptopidae. After this update a thorough revision, with a key to valid species and genera becomes inevitable.
