Entomofauna of mangrove Ecosystem of India – An Annotated Check List

ABSTRACT: Insects are major invertebrate faunal component in mangroves as in any other terrestrial ecosystem. A checklist comprising all groups of Insects reported from mangrove ecosystems in India is provided. It also includes the associated plant and animal species, nature of incidence, locality of report and the reporter. A total of 752 insects falling into 155 families of 16 different orders are listed in this paper, which includes phytophagous, predatory and parasitoid insects.
